Consultation Workshop: Strengthening Ghana’s Circular Economy Innovation Ecosystem for Climate-Resilient Agriculture

Date: Thursday, 27 November 2025
Time: 8:30 – 15:00 (GMT)
Venue: Accra, Ghana
Format: In-person and online

The CircularEconomy4Ghana Consultation Workshop is a strategic high-level event organized by the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT through CGIAR Accelerate for Impact Platform (A4IP), and Circular Bioeconomy Innovation Hub (CBEIH) in collaboration with the African Development Bank (AfDB).

The consultation workshop is a strategic high-level gathering designed to shape the scope, priorities, and partnership model of the potential CircularEconomy4Ghana Innovation Challenge. It aims to:

  • Foster dialogue between researchers, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to align circular economy innovations with end-user needs and market demand.
  • Validate pressing challenges in Ghana’s agri-food system where circular innovations can drive resilience, climate adaptation, and inclusive growth.
  • Identify priority areas and value chains where circular solutions can deliver the greatest impact.
  • Explore investment opportunities and co-creation pathways to attract funding and scale solutions through public–private partnerships.
  • Strengthen collaboration across ministries, industry leaders, farmer cooperatives, accelerators, and development partners to build an enabling ecosystem.

The CircularEconomy4Ghana Consultation Workshop will generate actionable insights and concrete inputs to shape the CircularEconomy4Ghana Innovation Challenge. Insights from this workshop will be published in the Consultation Workshop Report, which will be shared with participants and partners.

By convening Ghana’s ecosystem actors, this event will lay the foundation for a science-driven, inclusive, and circular innovation challenge that supports Ghana’s transition to a climate-resilient circular economy.
