Plant Biofenders Company Limited Vuruga Biocide is a novel biocontrol for control of crop pests

Plant Biodefenders limited company is a company registered in Tanzania since January 2019 with registration No.138675906. The core function of this company is production and distribution of organic agricultural inputs. This company was registered for the purpose of solving farmers and pollution challenges particularly of pest management in crops. The company has registered an organic pesticide (Vuruga Biocide) for control of; Fall armyworm and Tomato leafminer on horticulture. To date, the company has a capacity to produce 500-acre packs (120ml) per day that is 200,000-acre packs that has a value of $100,000. However, the country demand is very high about 10,000,000-acre packs per year which motivates the company to expand production to 4,000,000-acre packs per year by 2022/2023 that can earn revenues of more than $3,000,000 per year. In order to reach more customers and expand production, product promotion through farmers’ field school, media and demonstration plots is required.
